The Zambian Premier League has released fixtures for the 2026 MTN Super League Transition Season, which will run from September 2026 to January 2027.
The domestic football calendar will open with the Charity Shield between Red Arrows and Power Dynamos on Saturday, 19 September.
The date was selected to accommodate the clubs’ CAF interclub commitments scheduled for the previous weekend. An international break beginning on 21 September means the first league matches will be played on 3 and 4 October.
Opening fixtures
Stream A champions Power Dynamos will begin their campaign away to Konkola Blades, while Nkana visit Trident FC. NAPSA Stars host FC MUZA, Nchanga Rangers face Zanaco and newly promoted Makeni All Stars meet Kansanshi Dynamos.
In Stream B, Kabwe Warriors host ZESCO United, Mufulira Wanderers welcome Green Eagles and Nkwazi face Roan United. Mutondo Stars take on Red Arrows, while Green Buffaloes meet Chirundu United.
All ten opening-round matches are scheduled to kick off at 15:00.
The transition season will also feature the launch of the Zambia Football Association Challenge Cup, a national knockout competition involving ZPL clubs and qualifying teams from the FAZ provincial leagues.
Selected league matches will be televised live by TopStar, with the ZPL advising that some fixtures may be adjusted to accommodate the broadcast schedule. Any changes will be communicated in advance.
