Former Zambia international striker Brian Mwila has joined Mufulira Wanderers as the club continues strengthening its squad ahead of the 2026 MTN Super League Transition Season.
Mwila joins Abena Milambo following a spell with Kansanshi Dynamos, adding considerable experience to the club’s attacking options.
Nicknamed “Zlatan,” the 32-year-old has enjoyed a career spanning Zambia and several countries abroad. His former clubs include South Africa’s Platinum Stars, Austria’s SCR Altach and Angola’s Sagrada Esperança.
Mwila has also represented Zambia at senior international level. He made his Chipolopolo debut in 2017 and was part of the squad that finished runners-up at that year’s COSAFA Cup.
In announcing the signing, Mufulira Wanderers said Mwila’s quality, leadership and winning mentality would be invaluable as the club prepares for the forthcoming campaign.
His arrival provides another experienced attacking option for the Legendary Cup Fighters as they work to assemble a competitive squad for the shortened transitional season.
The Transition League is now scheduled to begin on 3 October after its opening was moved from the previously announced date of 12 September to accommodate the international calendar.
