Zambian youngsters Kingstone Mutandwa and Joseph Liteta experienced contrasting fortunes this week, with Mutandwa completing a move to Servette FC while Liteta remained on the bench during Cagliari’s 1–0 defeat to Inter.
Mutandwa was not included in Cagliari’s squad for Sunday’s encounter, days before completing his move to the Swiss Super League side. The 23-year-old striker has joined Servette on loan until the end of the 2026/27 season, with the agreement including an option to buy and an obligation linked to certain sporting conditions.
As part of the move, Mutandwa also extended his contract with Cagliari until June 2030.
Liteta, meanwhile, was included among Cagliari’s substitutes but was not called upon by coach Fabio Pisacane as the hosts battled to contain Inter. The 20-year-old midfielder will have to wait for another opportunity to add to his Serie A appearances.
Inter made the brighter start and took the lead after just nine minutes, with Hakan Çalhanoğlu finding the net to put the visitors ahead. Cagliari worked hard to stay in the contest but struggled to create enough clear chances, while Inter failed to make their dominance count with a second goal.
The visitors nevertheless held on to collect all three points.
For Mutandwa, the move marks the beginning of a fresh challenge, with the Zambia international now turning his attention to making an impact in Switzerland.
