Zanaco Strengthen Squad with Mukuka and Former Kabwe Warriors Trio

Zanaco have strengthened their squad with former ZESCO United midfielder Chanda Mukuka and the signings of Francis Banda, Simon Tonga and Clement Mundia.

Zanaco FC have strengthened their squad ahead of the new season with the signing of former ZESCO United midfielder Chanda Mukuka and three players who featured for Kabwe Warriors last season.

Mukuka joins the Bankers as a free agent following his departure from ZESCO United, where he spent approximately five and a half years. The versatile midfielder has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract and is expected to bring experience, creativity and additional quality to Zanaco’s midfield.

The Lusaka-based club have also completed the signings of Francis Banda, Simon Tonga and Clement Mundia on two-year contracts.

Banda joins Zanaco on a permanent transfer from Kabwe Warriors, while Tonga arrives from Makeni All Stars after spending last season on loan at Kabwe Warriors.

Mundia returns to Zanaco as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Kabwe Warriors. He previously featured for Young Zanaco during the 2013/14 season.

Squad Reshaped Ahead of New Season

The arrivals form part of Zanaco’s efforts to reshape their squad following several departures during the off-season.

Among those who have left is club vice-captain Wilson Chisala, who spent four seasons with the Bankers before securing a move to another Super Division side.

Isaac Shamujompa and Prosper Chiluya departed following the expiry of their contracts, while Eliya Mandanji left after his loan spell came to an end.

Zanaco will now look to their new recruits to settle quickly and help the club improve its fortunes in the coming season.
